Wow! I know folks with seminary degrees who might not score 100%! I think my score of 85% was pure luck considering that despite attending liturgical churches over the years where the lectionary does cover the entire O.T. & N.T., I have never intentionally read the entire bible cover to cover. Therefore, my knowledge is spotty at best.

I scored 100% too, but I did a lot of guessing. I’ve read the Bible in its entirety, but really, who’d remember everything about it? I actually got stumped more than anything else. So I just got lucky with this quiz, I think. I certainly don’t know the order of the books.

  3. Argh I tried to comment on here twice and it won’t show. 😦 If this goes through I just wanted to say that I got 97% and…well now writing it all out a third time is no fun.

  4. Eek….I am not even going to attempt it! I went to Sunday school as a child and loathed it with a passion, and while I’ve been meaning to read the Bible for a while, I haven’t got around to it yet. I know nothing!

  5. I got 74% which is pretty good considering I haven’t been to church in 20 years. I must have been paying better attention in Sunday school than I thoought 🙂 100% is pretty impressive. I bet you’d get all the jeopardy questions right when they have the Bible category up!

  6. 93% for me, which was better than I expected. It helped that some of the multiple choice options were fillers.

82%, last time I was involved in the Bible was at school, 17 years ago.

  8. Wow, I got a 100% score. I guess my degree in theology is still valid.
    I am going to start a TV phone-in show….

  9. Thanks for the link to this quiz. It looks like it could be fun. It reminds me of a book I’m reading now, a review copy of a book coming out next month, called “Religious Literacy” — it’s a fascinating book saying that knowing about religions in the U.S. isn’t only a religious matter, but also a civic matter. That book includes a quiz about the major religions that the writer gives to his students at Boston University, I think.

  11. Awesome — I pulled off a 100% as well, for the same reasons you did. This quiz was very amusing. Thanks!

  12. Congratulations! 100%. Unbelievable.

My strict Catholic upbringing did, unfortunately, not take root. I realised this when I was trying to console my hysterical mother mid 1970s. My oldest sister had just written to say she was living in cohabitation (yes, they call it that way back when) with her boyfriend (future husband). My mother was weeping and I just couldn’t understand what the fuss was about. “It against one of the Ten Commandments!” she shouts in exasperation. Racking my brain, I vaguely remembered the thing about coveting they neighbour’s wife. “But they’re not married” I assured her, “so it must be all right to have sex since they are not married”. You should have seen the look of despair on my mother’s face. At least my comment stopped her crying.
